Watching Fantasia (the dancing ostriches, hippos and yes, elephants):
Me: "Those hippos are funny! I love the hippos!"
Josie: "No-those are elephants!"
Me: "No they're not-see no trunks. Look at that mouth-definitely a hippo."
Josie: "No-ELEPHANT!"
Me: "I'm not going to argue with you Josie . . ."
(the elephants enter the picture)
Me: "There are your elephants."
Josie: "See-elephants! I'm RIGHT!"
Me: "Josie-those are elephants. The other ones are hippos."
Josie: "I'm not going to argue with you Mom."
